Your ship can barely stay up. The battery's dead after a few shots. You take the risky jobs. Good money. Bad company. You get a ship people take seriously. You buy your own place. You're finally making it. You open up shop. It's the start of your empire.Null Anchor is a space-sim-lite set inside a city built in a crater, far from Earth and thoroughly over-populated. Nine million people live in it. You're one of the few with a ship, which means you're one of the few who can leave the ground. You make a living however the day allows. Haul cargo between traders. Mine ore and sell it. Hunt someone with a price on their head. Strip a downed hull for parts nobody's claimed yet. The riskier the work, the better it pays, because the authorities are watching. Energy, not fuelYour ship pulls energy out of the air around it. There's nothing to buy and no tank to fill, but lean on the battery hard in a fight and the receptors freeze over. Then you're sitting under a charging station's light, waiting to thaw, hoping whoever you just shot at isn't better at waiting than you are.Fights that leave something behindFive weapons so far, and they don't all do the same job. Some cut straight through shields to the hull. Some shred shields and barely scratch metal. Some do a bit of both. Ships you destroy fall. Their cargo spills across the crater floor and you can hoover it up with a targeting drone, or land and gut the wreck yourself.Police, bounties and your own recordWanted lists are posted at police stations. Find your target, bring them down, collect. Shoot the wrong person and your name goes on that list instead, and then the police come for you on sight. Nobody in this city is completely clean. Some people are just better at not being caught.Build the ship you wantWeapons, shields, cargo pods and batteries, so you can charge faster or hold more. Frames come in three classes, built around agility, armour or speed, so a stripped-down strafing build and a slab of armour that soaks damage are both viable ways to play.Three craters and countingThree connected craters to fly and trade across right now, with AI traders, AI taxis and pirates working the same airspace you are. A fourth crater and a cave system are on the way, along with canyon, ice and desert areas.Bring a friendOnline and LAN multiplayer, with an MRPG mode and deathmatch in development.Coming during Early AccessBuy a building and get a hangar to dock in. Run a shop out of it. Install manufacturing components that turn ore into ingots, and parts into weapons and engines. Recover and rebuild your own wreck. Name and paint your ship. A dynamic economy, a black market and more ships, roughly one every few months.
