The world as we know it has shattered. Now, all that remains are a collection of broken fragments floating in a mysterious Void. With no combat or weapons, Through The Shatter challenges you to survive on your wits, your supplies, and your willingness to venture forth into the fog.

Through The Shatter is a non-combat roguelike adventure where you explore a graph-based overworld full of threats, manage food and hearts to stay alive, balance risks with rewards, and discover what the cataclysmic Shatter really was.

Each path has its price

In Through The Shatter, your survival depends on how you move across the world map and levels. Traveling between nodes costs supplies, and when those run out, you start paying in hearts. Be careful: when you lose your last heart, your run will be over and you must start again.

Make calculated risks: follow the safe path to the next fragment and miss out on discoverable secrets, or risk a long detour into the foggy unknown to hunt down vital supplies and hidden secrets.

Uncharted dangers: leave the safety of village camps to enter murky swamps, mountain passes, and perilous forest trails where your map is obscured by fog, and your only hope of clearing the path is to keep moving into the unknown risks.

Create strategic builds

Through The Shatter has no swords, spells, projectiles, or defensive weapons. Your chance of survival depends on the artifacts you pick up and combine along your journey. Open chests and choose from 3 game-changing artifacts to choose the one that best complements your strategy. Buy more at the forge, then seek out the one who lives in the dark and can fuse two distinct artifacts into a specialized item to power up your character build, or turn the damage you take into extra items.

Rest at campsites along the road to learn and arm yourself with Knots: limited-use abilities that let you buy a burst of free steps, sense unseen dangers, throw a line to make a new road, climb back along your rope, and dodge hazards.

Navigate the ever-changing Void

Each time you start a new run, the world and its secrets are reshuffled so no two journeys through The Shatter will be exactly the same. Encounter a ragtag cast of survivors, from traveling merchant sprouts to blacksmith dwarves. Die and the roads reshuffle, but the people remember you and everything you settled with them. Start a new game and they decide all over again: who they are, what they sell, and where they stand in the world.

Clear hidden places to earn cairn stones that unlock supplies and finds back home, and uncover secrets to piece together the real story of what caused the world to fracture and the role you played in it.

Adapt or perish! You'll face unexpected dangers in the darkness which force you to rethink your route and rework your strategy on the spot in order to survive.
